Our Teachers

photo Stephanie

Beginning at a young age, Stephanie started with violin and has continued to lay the groundwork for a musical career. She completed her BM degree in Music Therapy from Arizona State University in 2011. As a board-certified music therapist, she has proficiency in violin, harp, guitar, ukulele, and piano, and has been involved in orchestras and small ensembles throughout her schooling and beyond. She continues to hone her talents at home with private lessons, and works part time as a music therapist with adolescents and adults who suffer from mental illness.

Stephanie discovered Music Together® through her clients and was amazed at the results of the program and its message. She felt compelled to take her journey toward the path of Music Together and share in the powerful connection of music-making with families. After teaching for several years, she recieved her 'Certification I' in music education proficiency from the Center for Music and Young Children and became a Center Director of Cottontail Kids Music Together, LLC in 2015. In her spare time, Stephanie loves to do yoga, travel, and be a mommy to her toddler Afton.

photo Lindsay

Lindsay grew up around a family of singers and musicians and fell in love with the art at an early age. She sang in the elite choir group in high school and continued singing in musical theater class in college. When she lived in Los Angeles, CA she was very active recording over 50 songs. Lindsay was a member of a girl group for 5 years and performed live all over the country. Her proudest accomplishment is performing overseas for our US Armed forces in Iraq and Kuwait. She has sung the national anthem at several sporting events, including an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game.

Lindsay has over 18 years experience working with children. She coached cheerleading and dance for the United Spirit Association and Cheer 4 U Athletics in Southern California. Lindsay found Music Together when she began taking her son, Carter when he was 6 months old. They were both drawn to the program right away!  After attending one session, Lindsay had the opportunity to become an instructor for the program. She was then trained and started teaching for South Bay Music Together for 1 year.

Since then, Lindsay and her family have moved to Phoenix and she couldn’t be more thrilled to be instructing with Teacher Stephanie and Cottontail Kids Music Together. She loves sharing her passion for music with children and is so excited to meet all of you!

photo Jana

Some of Jana’s earliest and favorite memories are of singing in the car with her mom and going with her family to concerts in the park every summer. This led to an immediate love of music which was further developed with violin, piano, dance, voice, and guitar lessons over the years. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice/Musical Theater at Arizona State University in 2006 and after working for non-profit theater companies for a few years, she found her passion for teaching! Jana then received her Post-Baccalaureate in Elementary Education in 2010 and was fortunate to teach in Chandler Unified School District as a K-6 Elementary Music Teacher for 5 years. She worked hard to build the music program at her school, raising thousands of dollars to purchase classroom guitars, props, and Orff instruments, and nearly quadrupled the size of the ‘before school choir’ program. Stepping away from the classroom to stay at home with her 2 children (now 4 and almost 1) was bittersweet. And while she absolutely loves the time she gets to spend with her kids, she is extremely excited for this opportunity to be teaching music again with Music Together!

photo Karen (sub teacher)

Karen is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). She earned her BM in Music Therapy from Radford University in 2000. Working as a Music Therapist for 10 years providing services to children with developmental disabilities, she had the opportunity to use music everyday while motivating children to reach their highest potential.

Karen then became a stay-at-home Mom following the birth of her two children. She continues to teach private music lessons and maintain her Music Therapy board certification. After being introduced to Music Together last year she quickly realized leading music groups using this program is a natural fit, and is excited to teach!

Besides her passion for making music, seeing live music, and generally all things musical, Karen enjoys the outdoors. Running and hiking are frequent activities, as well as camping and off-road/exploring with her husband and family.
