THREE make up classes (Fall,Winter, Spring) and TWO make ups (Summer) per registered child are allowed each semester in a first-come, first-served basis beginning week two. Make-ups may be scheduled at all of our locations by using our make-up scheduler. Make up classes may not be carried forward to the next semester.
Sick Child Policy
If your child is sick, please keep them home and schedule a make up class. As per the DHS regulations, keep your child home if your child has:
- a temperature of 100 or more; please be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication (such as Tylenol or aspirin)
- conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- impetigo or other contagious skin rashes
- severe cold with fever, sneezing and nose drainage
- any contagious disease
- seems really sick without obvious symptoms.
If a child comes to class with visible symptoms of illness, we will kindly request that you let your child recover at home and not stay. If your child suffers from non-contagious symptoms such as allergies, please bring a doctor's note to share with the teacher. It is so important for families to feel safe in class. Thank you for helping us keep our classes safe and fun for everyone!
Adults & Older Children: We welcome grandparents, visiting relatives, and older siblings (age 6 and above) to join in making music with us. It is wonderful to have extra singing role models! Please let your visitors know ahead of time that the class is participation-oriented. Older children are expected to participate in music-making.
Children (under age 6): For your child's safety, our class sizes are limited. Please do not bring extra children to class unless previously arranged. Visiting spots are available on a first-come first served basis.
Sibling visits: When space is available, siblings are welcome to visit class one time at no charge. Two subsequent scheduled sibling visits are permitted at a rate of $10 per child. Payment for the second and third visits will be collected by the teacher. We accept cash (exact change) or card.
Out-of-town families: Please call the office to discuss out-of town visitors (with children under age 6). There is a $15 visiting fee.
A full refund can be granted if you've contacted the office about withdrawing prior to the semester start date. We understand that sometimes unexpected things happen, however, non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal from class. If you request to withdraw before classes begin, we can issue a full credit toward an upcoming semester or give a refund minus a $25 withdrawal fee. No refunds are available after classes begin.
After the first day of classes, partial credits may be issued in the event of extreme emergency situations (i.e. mandatory pregnancy bed rest or prolonged hospitalizations for more than 4 weeks) if communication has been timely and immediate. Materials are not returnable once opened.
Transferring: Switching classes are not guaranteed; there is a $10 transfer fee to switch once classes have began (space allowing and not being detrimental to the existing class). There are many educational benefits for children to have the continuity of musical community in their classes; we often see a child's comfort and trust level grow as they experience a similar group of familiar/safe faces each week. We do, however, understand that situations arise and you may need to request a transfer. This will be considered depending on availability and class size.
Please no food/non-water drinks during class. Snacks are to be eaten before/after class outside of the room used for music-making to be considerate of allergies. Nursing/bottle-feeding is always welcome during class.
We know how adorable your little one is and how it can seem really important to capture the magic of the musical moments. However, please be considerate that not every family wants their child to be photographed or in the background of these photos. You are welcome to snap pictures before and after class as well as once per semester during photo-week when we have 1 special week where we allow photos during a play-along after the goodbye song. Thank you!
